The Energy, Industry and Mining Sector, as the basic organizational unit of the Ministry, performs study-analytical, expert-operational and information-documentation related to energy, industry and mining, as follows: performs expert tasks related to resolving administrative procedures in the field of mining and geology, when issuing decisions on meeting the requirements for technical equipment of business premises for carrying out activities of collection, production and trade of waste materials and secondary raw materials and when issuing approvals for carrying out activities of wood cutting; in cooperation with other organizational units of the Ministry, participates in the preparation of preliminary drafts, drafts and proposals of laws, other regulations and general acts in the field of industry, energy, mining, geology and concessions; participates in the procedure for granting concessions within the competence of the Ministry; performs expert tasks related to resolving administrative procedures; determines and monitors the realization of the energy balance; monitors the allocation and distribution of energy, energy sources; takes care of the use of natural resources; participates in determining the global strategy for the development of energy in the Canton; monitors new achievements in the field of energy production, as well as the possibilities of use; keeps records, registers and cadastres of exploration and exploitation fields in the Canton, concession contracts, as well as companies that explore and exploit natural resources, in accordance with the laws regulating the field of concessions, mining and geological exploration; proposes measures to improve working conditions in industry; in particular, monitors the possibility of potential development of the metal and electrical industry, textile, leather and footwear, construction materials and non-metals, wood and graphic industries, capacity utilization, modernization and promotion of technical and technological achievements in the field of geological exploration and exploitation; determines the balance of production of mineral raw materials under the jurisdiction of the Canton; provides professional assistance to the competent municipal authorities in the development of plans and records of explored areas and exploitation fields; performs other tasks in accordance with the regulations regulating the field of concessions, industry, energy, mining and geological exploration.
